Today I Made: Currant Scones
Today I made currant scones! I love making these when I have a little cream left and want a quick, delicious baked good.
My family uses the Cook’s Illustrated Cream Scones recipe and they are perfect every time. The inside is soft, pillowy, and tender with sweet currants studded throughout. The outside is crisp and flakey. I recommend sprinkling the outside of each scone with turbinado sugar—it adds a delightful crunch and subtle caramel flavor.
