Soon Tofu Soup Kit Review

Soon Tofu Soup Kit Review

After recently finishing the new K-drama Crash Landing on You, I was craving Korean food! Where I live there are quite a few Korean grocery stores, including H-Mart, a Korean-American supermarket chain. The stores are very nice and have a large variety of products. Of all the Korean food I have tried, which I admit is not as much as I would like, my favorite dish is Sundubu-jjigae, or tofu soup. It has very soft tofu that melts in your mouth, and I really like it spicy and with a variety of mushrooms. While at H-Mart, I saw a product that was advertised as a soup starter for this dish and I had to try it!

The Soon Tofu Soup Kit includes soft tofu and a chili paste. You add your own veggies and meat of your choice. I added napa cabbage, shiitake mushrooms, and baby bok choy to the tofu soup. To complete the meal, I had a side of kimchi, rice, and seaweed.

Overall, I thought this kit was pretty good. I would rate it 8/10. There was a good amount of spice and flavor in the broth, but I felt it needed a little more, so I added 2-3 teaspoons of sesame oil and it really helped! The tofu had a great flavor and texture that complemented the crunchy veggies. This was also quick to prepare; it took me about 20 minutes total! I would recommend this product for a quick and delicious lunch or dinner!
