Today I Made: Striped Lemon Poppy Seed Bread
Today I made a striped lemon poppy seed bread! As I was scrolling through Instagram one day, I came upon this lemon poppy seed bread. It looked so delicious, and I loved how the poppy seeds were in their own layer, instead of being distributed in the batter. The poppy seed filling is reminiscent of one that filled a german poppy seed pastry I loved to eat at the farmers’ market when I was little.
The cake itself is very lemony and has a delicate crumb. It pairs nicely with the layers of poppy seed filling, which adds some crunchy texture and savory notes. If I were to make this again, I would probably only put one layer of poppy seeds to balance the cake out.
I absolutely loved baking and eating this cake! I highly recommend it for anyone who loves the classic lemon poppy seed cake, but is looking for a delicious twist.
